The kickoff meeting for the new all-volunteer Greater Houston Heights Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) is scheduled for the evening of March 24th, but we still need to obtain a home for this important neighbor-to-neighbor work to be done. (Long term, we also need a location for our periodic eight-session training and certification classes, but that's a separate issue). Needed quarterly is a basic indoor meeting place for at least fifty with chairs, tables, electrical access and facilities. Meeting time interval will be approximately 6:30 to 9:00 PM and meetings will feature lectures, drills and practical presentations by emergency response professionals and community leaders. These include HFD, HPD, DHS and FBI, among others. CERT training is a city/county sanctioned and coordinated and federally-funded group activity of.ordinary citizens. The community-based teams are, however, self-supporting and need your help. If you have space to offer or to suggest, please call or contact me at the address below. Visit us at www.houstonheightscert.org.
When available, the meeting location will be posted here.
