Good morning Greater Heights Stakeholders,

Attached are the Summary Notes and Attendance Report for the December 15 Greater Heights SN Council meeting. A brief summary is also provided below.

Super Neighborhood Action Plan (SNAP)
As previously reported, we are in the midst of developing our inaugural Super Neighborhood Action Plan (SNAP), which is a short wish list of "to do" items for the Parks and Recreation Department and the Public Works and Engineering Department. Each super neighborhood is limited to 25 total requests. In our case, this must be shared by all 13 Heights-area civic groups. In our last meeting on Tuesday, December 15, we approved our slate and submitted it to the City of Houston one month early. We were the first super neighborhood in Houston to submit our SNAP list, which gives us valuable time to work with the City to address questions and make minor modifications, if needed, ahead of the formal submission deadline.

I-10 Construction
We learned that the Texas Department of Transportation has ramped up its plans for I-10 construction along the southern border of the Greater Heights. Construction contracts should be going in next month for the highway expansion project, which also includes new access roads, moving entrances, and eventually building new retention ponds on 30 acres near the intersection of White Oak Bayou with I-10. While it is probably too late to influence the plans as the impact assessments were performed many years ago, the GHSNC Infrastructure Drainage, and Flooding Committee will monitor progress.

Next Meeting
The next general SN Council meeting will be Tuesday, January 19, at 6:30 PM at the Historic Houston Heights Fire Station & City Hall (Yale and 12th Streets). The general SNC meetings will continue to meet at the fire station location on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.

Thanks,
Blake Masters
