Anyone know what happened to the big garbage cans at Proctor??? The city came and sawed them of the wood bases they were sitting on and took all 3 garbage cans yesterday. Gone. So....... Bring a garbage bag when you come over to play.
Mrs. Pam called me yesterday afternoon and left a message so I am trying to get a hold of her to see what happened.
Please call 311 and report that our trash cans are missing and we would like some form of garbage receptacle back at the public park. Hello!
Even if they had tops on them with a circle cut out so you could only put in garbage and not whole garbage bags from anywhere you wanted to. I think the city workers complained when every week they had to pick up rotting garbage that had spilled out from the trash cans and extra bags of garbage people would put there. I'd hear them cussing out the garbage out every week.
So.....I don't know what the answer is or who complained loud enough....or who's idea was it to get the chain saw. But we STILL need trash cans here!!!
Thank you neighbors.

I called 311 and reported the trash cans gone.
They gave me a "CASE NUMBER" so if you PLEASE call 311 and give them this case number and tell them that you would like them to bring back the 3 trash cans to our public park.
They can choose any reciprocal they'd like....just give us some form of garbage cans back...we'll be nice! :)
Thank you for taking the time neighbors. I had to wait on hold for 5 minutes...but it will be worth the effort!

Thank-you Izzy for calling 311, and for trying to contact Pam. Our Park gets used, and we encourage the use of our Park, and people for the most part put their trash where it belongs. The Friday Night Movies in particular generate a lot of trash, but the movie goers bag it all up neatly, and it's usually gone by Sunday. It's clear we need more trash cans, not none!
I'm afraid it will not help for anyone else to call 311. Once the report has been filed (and I called 311 to confirm that is has indeed been filed), the 311 operator is not going to record how many more people call to complain.
However, please note the following phone numbers: COH Parks & Recreation Department = 832-395-7000 COH District H Council Member Ed Gonzalez = 832-393-3003

Thank you Stan for the phone numbers!
Everyone call them so we don't start seeing trash and doggie doo start piling up. Still haven't heard from Mrs. Pam yet...we'll hear something tomorrow I'm sure! :)

Trash cans are back! Cool! They have just repositioned them.
From what I can tell they probably took them out to move them away from the sidewalk/walking trail so if garbage was overflowing dogs didn't get into it, and humans didn't have to walk through it. Which is much better I guess. Except people have to walk away from the trail to throw away dog poop etc.
But please take the time to throw away your dog poop etc. or I will come out and citizen's arrest you for littering. ha
Thanks neighbors!
