February 2010 General Meeting Guest Speaker: Karen Dupont, Assistant Fire Chief with Houston Fire Department
Karen Dupont, Assistant Fire Chief with the Houston Fire Department will be our guest speaker at the February 23rd General Meeting. Ms. Dupont has been invited to speak about fire hydrant inspections, and we may also be visited by one of our local Fire Station firemen/women who actually carry out the inspections of our hydrants.
Last year PPNA carried out dialog with the COH HFD and the Public Works and Engineering departments to understand the inspection status of our hydrants. March 2010 General Meeting Guest Speaker: City of Houston Council Member Sue Lovell, Historic Presevation Committee.
Council Member Sue Lovell has kindly accepted our invitation to speak at our March General meeting on her role as Chair of the Historic Preservation Committee, and about what the City of Houston's Historic Ordnance means for our Neighborhood.
April 2010 General Meeting Topic of Interest: Voting on amending our By-Laws.
At our April General Meeting we will be voting on accepting proposals to amend our By-Laws. Paper copies of our By-Laws with proposed amendments were handed out at our February General Meeting, and more will be made available at our March General Meeting. These proposals can also be read on this website by going to the "About Us" section, and selecting the "By-Laws" link on the left-hand margin.
